A3- THOMAS

Above are the calculations for forces acting on the bridge and the simulation on BridgeDesigner. Since all the angles we used were 45 degree or 90 degree angles, there was a pattern in the tension and compression on each member. The method of joints is useful for figuring out how the force applied onto a bridge will be distributed throughout the bridge and help us come up with an optimal design.
This is an analysis of our K'nex bridge and the method of joints can also be applied here to figure out how our bridge distributes the stress placed upon it and engineer it better in order to better distribute the weight and be a stronger bridge.
